The Shadow of Grief is an illustrated children's book that I've been working on for my major project for my 4th and final year in the course. It addresses the concept of grief and death. This imaginative and lyrical narrative uses the shadow as a metaphor for grief to discuss the different stages and emotions of bereavement that kids may go through. The book is targeted at children between the ages of 3 and 10-year-olds and at their parents or guardians as it attempts to provide a better understanding of the emotions they are feeling following the death of a loved one. To aid children in their healing journey, the story is also accompanied by a children's grief journal titled "TO THE SHADOW OF MY GRIEF."
